Memory Verse Monday --- No. 1

Memorizing scripture… very important. I'll be the first to admit that I have done a terrible job of reading/memorizing the Word. It has been something on my heart this year that I need to change. Thankfully, God put a new friend in my life to help challenge me, and we memorizing a new verse biweekly. So, here is the verse I started memorizing three weeks, ago. Yes I am behind on the post, and I'll have another verse next Monday. But after that it will be every other Monday… so tell your friends… #MVM. I'm also slacking on posting a picture with it. I haven't taken the time to go out and find something that inspired or reminded me of this verse. I'll do better on the next one.

The Lord your God is in your midst, a Mighty One who will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness;
He will quiet you by his love;
He will exult over you with loud singing.
— Zephaniah 3:17 (ESV)

This was an interesting one to memorize for the first one. For the two weeks I was trying to really meditate on this verse and say it throughout my days, I really felt like it was more encouraging than anything. It continued to remind me that God is always there for me, no matter I'm going through. Life is rough, and crap happens all the time… but this verse helps me remember that no matter how bad things can be, He is the only Mighty One who can save. He rejoices over me and the life that I choose to live for Him, and I need to remember who I'm worshipping or putting my hope in everyday.
